MolecularWare CEO Honored Among Boston’s Best and Brightest
Business Leaders
BOSTON, Mass., Oct 4, 2002 -
MolecularWare, Inc. CEO Richard P. Kivel was named today to The Boston Business Journal’s fifth annual
"40 Under 40." The list recognizes 40 of Boston’s best and brightest businesspeople under the age of 40
for their influence on industry and local business.
"We are once again amazed and impressed by the quality and quantity of young talented businesspeople in
Boston," said Michael Olivieri, publisher of the Boston Business Journal. "The nominations, which numbered
in the hundreds, reflect the vitality and mirrors the diversity of our local business community."
Kivel, 36, was selected by a team of editors that assessed each nominee's influence on industry and local
business. Volunteer work and other forms of philanthropy were also factors. Kivel has been CEO of MolecularWare,
his fourth startup, since early 2001. He is also a judge in the annual MIT $50K Entrepreneurship Competition.
"I am honored to be recognized for my business accomplishments, particularly the success that MolecularWare has
had this year," said Kivel. "Boston has a great business community, and I’m proud to be part of it."
The 40 under 40 supplement was distributed with the Oct. 4-10 edition of the Boston Business Journal. It
will be followed by a reception in early November, hosted by the newspaper.
